Governor Greg Abbott said, ‘Texans, not government, should decide their best health practices about children wearing masks at schools,’ BUT NOT when it comes to women making decisions about their own bodies.
Texas just passed a law that makes it illegal to have an abortion after six weeks of pregnancy, which is before many people even know they are pregnant. Six weeks? I’m not speaking out of school, but periods often don’t come every six weeks.
This law is not only the first step to overturning Roe v. Wade, but it installed vigilante justice that rewards any private citizen if they report someone for simply helping a woman make an abortion decision. This bill is so extreme that it does not include exceptions even in cases of rape or incest? Are you joking?
They say don’t mess with Texas; I say don’t mess with me. 80% of the country believes people should have access to safe and legal abortion. I make no bones about the fact that I am 100% pro-choice. I will fight any and every attempt to take away a woman’s right to control her own body.

I know that my team and I hit you with fundraising requests at the end of August, but the fight continues. This Texas law is the biggest assault on Roe v. Wade. If we can’t keep the House and Senate, I fear it will soon be a crime to make a personal choice about pregnancy in this country.
