Friends,

Late last night, the United States Supreme Court overturned five decades of settled law and allowed one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country to go into effect.

The law, passed by Republicans in Texas, bans all abortions beyond six weeks of pregnancy – before most women have any idea they’re pregnant. Even worse, it encourages civilians to interfere with the private health decisions of complete strangers, establishing a $10,000 bounty for those who report abortions.

What we’re witnessing in Texas is a blatant, unconstitutional violation of a woman’s right to choose. As long as I’m Governor, I will never allow that to happen in Minnesota. But make no mistake: Now that the Supreme Court has effectively given them permission, the MN GOP will stop at nothing to push the same restrictive anti-choice measures if they retake power in 2022.

Virtually every Republican who has announced a campaign against Lt. Governor Flanagan and me are staunchly anti-choice. With stakes this high, we can’t afford to let them get the upper hand this early.

I’ve asked my campaign to redouble our efforts to inform Minnesotans about the stakes of this election. My fundraising team says we need to raise an additional $15,000 by Sunday night to hit the ground running next week. Will you pitch in $10, $25, $50, or whatever you can afford right now to help us get there?
