Indiana Zoos Top The Best of Indiana Summer Bucket List Voting;

INDIANAPOLIS - (Sept. 2, 2021) - When Visit Indiana launched its summer?road trips website [ [link removed] ], VisitIndiana.com visitors had a chance to decide on their favorite summer spot. The Indiana Destination Development Corporation compiled 50 of the top summer activities across the state for voters to consider, and?The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo [ [link removed] ]?earned the top spot. The?Indianapolis Zoo [ [link removed] ]?came in second, followed by Washington Park in Michigan City, which is home to Washington Park Zoo [ [link removed] ] and the East Lighthouse.?

The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo was named one of the Top 10 Best Zoos for Kids by?"Parents Magazine" [ [link removed] ]. It includes an African Journey, Australian Adventure, Indonesian Rainforest and The Central Zoo, features new exhibits, Monkey Island and an interactive home for River Otters. Enjoy 38 acres and over 1,000 animals.
Located in White River State Park, the Indianapolis Zoo offers 64 acres of both indoor and outdoor animal attractions. Guests can explore more than 1,200 animals of approximately 230 species as well as 47,000 plants specimens. Special experiences include the Dolphin In-Water Adventure and one of the largest flocks of macaws in North America. New this year, Alligators and Crocodiles: The Fight to Survive!

The Washington Park Zoo is located on the southern shore of beautiful Lake Michigan. The zoo started as a sanctuary and continues to welcome wildlife in need. The 15 acres features over 90 different species of animals native to Australia, Africa, Asia, North America and South America. Washington Park is also home to a beautiful beach and Indiana?s only functioning lighthouse, the Michigan City East Light.
"There are so many beautiful places to explore in the Hoosier State, including our wonderful zoos," said Lt Gov. Suzanne Crouch. "This is the perfect time of year to get out and explore what our great state has to offer."
A recent TripAdvisor survey shows 31% of Americans have plans to travel over the Labor Day holiday. It also found that 22% are still undecided.

"It is a planning tool where you can browse suggested road trips specific to a city, county or region."
