John, Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert once again finds herself in the middle of another controversy. Last week, we covered how she appeared to misuse campaign funds and how she abuses her office for financial gain. This week, it has come to the public's attention that her husband was jailed for indecent exposure in 2004, and charged with domestic assault later that year. In January 2004, Lauren and her then-boyfriend Jayson were at a bowling alley, when Jayson decided to expose himself to two young women, after asking them if they wanted to see a tattoo he had. He pled guilty to "public indecency and lewd exposure." Just a month later, he was arrested and charged with harassing and physically assaulting Lauren. In 2007, the couple married. Apparently, indecent exposure and physical assault are easily forgivable acts for Lauren. Now, years later, she uses her position on the House Natural Resources Committee to boost Jayson's position in the energy sector. Is this the type of person we want representing us in Congress? If our representatives surround themselves with people who do not know how to treat their fellow citizens with respect and dignity, how will they be able to legislate properly, and to ensure all citizens respect and dignity? It will take all of us pitching in to defeat corrupt people like Lauren Boebert. Can we count on your support to take the fight directly to Boebert and make sure she never holds another position of power?
