Friend,
This week, a barbaric law went into effect in Texas that bans abortions after just six weeks of pregnancy — long before most women even know they're pregnant — and allows no exceptions for rape or incest. The law also allows individual citizens to sue abortion providers or anyone who helps someone access an abortion, effectively creating abortion bounty hunters.
Make no mistake, this law will kill Texas women. Wealthy Texans will have the means to access safe abortion care by traveling to other states, the poorest of Texans will not.
This law affects every American. Politicians often look to Texas as a model for right-wing policies to pass in other states. We cannot afford for these types of laws to become blueprints for destroying reproductive rights.
Roe v. Wade is at stake, and we cannot stop fighting.
Access to abortion and reproductive care in Texas is now extremely limited, and patients in the state urgently need our support.
Can you split a contribution to these organizations providing critical resources and access to abortion and reproductive care in Texas? [[link removed]] 100% of your contribution goes directly to the organizations on the ground.
[link removed] [[link removed]]We cannot let these dangerous Texas-style policies gain a foothold in Congress or any other state. We won't stop fighting.
- Jim
