Hi John,

Last week we emailed you about the scandalous attempt by Siccar Point Energy to start development on a new North Sea oil field before a permit was granted. In 24 hours over 55,000 people emailed Kwasi Kwarteng demanding the Minister stop the development of Cambo. This pressure forced the oil company into a last minute u-turn, announcing they would delay work till 2022! [1]

But we don’t just want Cambo delayed, we want it stopped. The oil company and government are on the backfoot with their plans scuppered so now it’s time for us to make our voices heard across the country. Our MPs can put pressure on the Prime Minister to make the right decision for humanity and stop Cambo, the more MPs that speak out on Cambo, the more likely the PM is to listen. Will you email your MP and get them to push Boris Johnson to stop Cambo?

We know that the oil company is ready to install key drilling equipment in the North Sea at first notice, which shockingly suggests they feel confident the government will give the go-ahead for the project. [2]

As the COP26 UN climate talks approach the UK government should be paving the way for a greener, sustainable future which no longer relies on fossil fuels. But instead they are failing to listen to the overwhelming evidence and take tangible action to halt climate destruction [3][4][5]. The development of the new Cambo oil field sits in direct opposition to the needs of the planet and humanity.

We’re building more and more pressure on the government to stop Cambo. Every email sent today will ensure that Boris Johnson can no longer ignore Cambo and will finally have to face the decision to act in the interest of us all and stop the new oil field going ahead. Please send an email now.
