John — Yesterday, Texas’ extreme six week abortion ban went into effect.

This law essentially ends Roe v. Wade in the state — and places a $10,000 bounty on the head of anyone who dares help an individual obtain an abortion.

Let me be clear, John: This law is inhumane, cruel, and a national disgrace.

It does nothing but make things worse for individuals seeking an abortion. Low income, minority, and working class individuals without the means to travel to another state to seek an abortion will be most affected.

Abortion is a fundamental right, now being politicized by Republicans for their own gain. I’m extremely disappointed by the Supreme Court’s unwillingness to act on behalf of the decades-long precedent set by Roe v. Wade.

And make no mistake, John: Access to abortion is on the ballot this November in Virginia.

My Republican opponent has made it a priority to defund critical services like Planned Parenthood — preventing an individual from choosing what is right for their own body.

The state Senate in Virginia is tied on the issue of choice, which means the Lt. Governor will be the last line of defense for reproductive rights.

I refuse to let anti-choice Republicans triumph. I am committed to being a brick wall on the issue of abortion access, and will always protect an individual’s right to make decisions about their own body.

As Lt. Governor, I will fight with all I have to make sure abortion access is safe. With two months to go in this campaign, we can’t let Republicans win. Chip in $3 now to help elect me in November!
