Yesterday, conservatives on the Supreme Court defied 50 years of legal precedent and refused to block the most restrictive abortion law in the country. 

The law, which would prevent Texas women from most abortions after 6 weeks, is already in effect. 

With Roe v. Wade inches away from being overturned entirely, Republicans in state legislatures across the country are seizing the opportunity to push similarly restrictive measures that would effectively eliminate access to a safe and legal abortion.

Local and state elections have never been more important – and in 2022, Minnesota’s entire State House, State Senate, and Governor’s seat is up for grabs. If we’re not prepared to elect pro-choice DFLers up and down the ballot, we are one election away from turning into Texas. 

Our only chance at fortifying Roe v. Wade is by passing Minnesota’s Protect Reproductive Options (PRO) Act, and without a DFL trifecta in state government, you can consider that out of the question.
