For years, the retail prices of vital prescription drugs have risen astronomically, while lower-priced generics have been slow to enter the market. Too often, we hear stories of Americans -- especially the sick and elderly -- having to decide between paying for their life-saving medicine and putting food on the table. Meanwhile, pharmaceutical companies are raking in profits as they price most Americans out of the health care they need.
