Today we are thrilled to announce the launch of the Texas Campaign's
very own Young Ambassador Program!
Dear John,
For over ten years I've worked with young people across the globe and there
is one thing that never changes no matter where you work– young people
are passionate, innovative and ready to take a seat at the decision making
table. It has been my pleasure to work alongside young folks and guide them
through the development of innovative, high impact programs providing
education and information on sexual and reproductive health. Now, I have
the opportunity to bring this experience to the Texas Campaign.
I am excited to share that the Texas Campaign has launched the Young
Ambassadors program as a way to engage young adults in a more meaningful
way.
The Texas Campaign Young Ambassador Program [1] aims to connect passionate
young advocates with the platforms, people, and tools they need to
strengthen their capacity, increase their knowledge, and expand their
networks so that they can continue to champion increased access to sexual
and reproductive health care and sexual education for all for years to
come.
During the program, young ambassadors will:
* Receive funding to develop their very own advocacy project with the
guidance of an assigned TXC Advisor
* Have the opportunity to meet with experts within the Adolescent & Youth
Sexual & Reproductive Health (AYSRH) field
* Participate in webinars and workshops to gain more knowledge about AYSRH
* Get training in advocacy, Texas policy around sexual and reproductive
health for young people, trauma informed approaches to sex-ed, inclusivity
and other relevant topics
* Network with other passionate young advocates and professionals
* Share their stories and contribute to the creation of more relevant and
impactful youth focused programs and interventions within the Texas
Campaign
The program is open to ten young people living in Texas between the ages of
17 and 20 who are passionate about improving access to sexual and
reproductive health, and who are interested in developing their leadership
and advocacy skills.
I invite you all to celebrate this moment with us and share this
information with any young people in your networks that would benefit from
this opportunity. Please contact me if you have any questions.
In solidarity,
Carolina Salmeron
