John,

This year is on pace to become the deadliest gun violence year in decades.

Washington Post: 2020 was the deadliest gun violence year in decades. So far, 2021 is worse

Between the pandemic, exacerbated economic and racial inequality, and tenuous relationships between law enforcement and communities of color, gun violence continues to climb all across America.

And unless we step up and demand change, it will carry on rocking communities, shattering families, and inflicting lasting trauma to those who encounter it.

Today we’re asking you to get involved by making a contribution to support our work advocating for community solutions to gun violence. Please contribute what you can:

This year, we’ve seen nearly 30,000 gun violence deaths across the country.

This massive number is truly shocking to comprehend. And it gets even worse when you think about all the families and friends across the country reeling from grief over the deaths of their loved ones.

What makes these losses all the more painful is that we know how to successfully prevent gun violence.

Time and time again, we’ve proven that community-based gun violence prevention strategies are effective in curbing gun deaths.

This summer alone, the Community Justice Action Fund has:

  • Partnered with the White House to allocate critical funding for community-based violence prevention programs;
  • Successfully worked with states, counties, and cities to strategically invest this federal funding into community-based violence prevention programs; and
  • Co-founded the #FundPeace Campaign that hosted summits across the country to educate communities and train leaders about the importance of investing in community violence intervention programs.

We’ve made serious strides in building the community-driven infrastructure we need to curb gun violence.

But John, we can’t defeat this epidemic alone. Now -- during the deadliest summer on record -- we urgently need your help.

Can we count on you to contribute any amount today and help save lives?

Thank you for being such an important part of our mission.
