Biden Nominates First Native American Park Service Director
Last month, President Biden nominated Charles “Chuck” Sams III to be National Park Service director. Sams is a longtime administrator with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation and co-creator of the Center for Diversity and the Environment. The Park Service has gone more than four years without a director.
