Dear John,
Hope you've enjoyed your summer.
Monthly Meeting - Monday 13th September, 7.00pm-8.15pm
I'm getting in touch to invite you to our monthly meeting on 13th September where there will be updates on local campaigning, London Assembly work, and national Green Party news including the leadership election and recent mental health event. We will also be planning for next month's AGM on Monday 4th October to be our first hybrid event where people can choose to attend either in person or on zoom. Sign up here for a zoom link on Monday 13th September, 7.00pm - 8.15pm.
Green Party Leadership Elections
Today, voting begins so if you are a Green Party member, you should receive an email from the national party with your own voting code. It's worth checking your junk mail or 'other' inbox to make sure you can vote.
Voting will take place from 10am today until 10pm on 23rd September. The voting system will be in the format of a single transferable vote (STV) – each voter will submit a single ballot on which candidates are ranked. In addition to the candidates, the ballot paper will allow voters to express a preference for "Re- Open Nominations" (RON).
A great source for interviews and news articles with the candidates is the
Bright Green website. Iain Dale is also hosting a leadership debate tonight on
LBC, 8-9pm. And Young Greens are holding a hustings on Tues 7th September which you can
sign up for here.
Finally, just a quick note on the Wellbeing Economy petition. Caroline Lucas has been reminding us that if you haven't already, it would be great if we could all sign and share it - there's less than a month to get 60k more signatures to ensure a parliamentary debate on this crucial issue.
See you on the 13th!
best wishes
Naranee
