9/11 REMEMBRANCE
Saturday, September 11, 1: 00PM on the lawn of the Court House in downtown Lapeer we are hosting a commemorative event to remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. It’s the 20^th anniversary and it’s important that we NEVER FORGET! We’ll also be honoring those who recently gave their lives in Afghanistan, as well as all our Veterans who made the supreme sacrifice. Our military continually serves and protects us and we will honor and thank them for their service. Join us for this memorial event as we pray and show support for our military and our country. Remember to bring your American flag!

** WOODS-N-WATER
The Lapeer GOP will have a booth at the 34^th annual Woods-N-Water Outdoor Weekend, September 10-12, at the Eastern Michigan Fairgrounds, Imlay City. If you are attending be sure to stop by the booth and say hello! Thank you to Harry Akers for organizing this event and setting up a great looking booth.

** Executive Board Meeting
The Lapeer County Executive Board meets the third Thursday of the month, at 7:00 PM, at the Eastern Michigan Fairgrounds in Imlay City. September 16th is the next meeting. Everyone is invited to attend.

** MURDER MYSTERY DINNER
Do you like murder mysteries? Are you a good detective? Our murder mystery dinner, “Murder at the Luau” will be Saturday, October 2, at Castle Creek Golf Course. This “murder” takes place in Hawaii. You are welcome to get in the mood and dress in Polynesian clothes. Everyone loves a luau, and this one comes with a murder to solve. Come out, have a great dinner and enjoy the evening trying to solve this “who did it” event. Tickets are $35 and can be found on our web site: www.lapeergop.com, and tickets will also be sold at the September 16^th Lapeer GOP meeting. Doors open at 5:30 and the program and dinner starts at 6:30. Cash bar available. Aloha!

** WEB SITE
Have you seen our new web site? It’s the new and improved web site. Mary Chris Foxworthy has been working on it for months and it’s finally up and running. The calendar is updated with all our meetings and events. Be sure to check it out. Pictures of our Lincoln Day Dinner in July will be posted soon.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at the Eastern Michigan Fair and at Lapeer Days. It was good to meet so many of you. A big thank you to all our workers, and our organizers: Greg Harper and William Hamilton. I hope you had a chance to see the Republican Party float in the Lapeer Days parade. Carol Brown was this year's organizer. It's always a fun event and the “kids”, young and old, enjoyed the candy we passed out.
