John,

I’m devastated by today’s decision from the Supreme Court allowing a Texas law banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy to go into effect.

Plus, the law allows private citizens to sue abortion providers or anyone else who assists someone getting an abortion — even just by driving them to the clinic or helping cover the costs.

This law is cruel and unjust and sets Texas back by decades. The Supreme Court’s silence sets a dangerous precedent as more Republican-led states consider restrictive measures to inhibit our right to choose and bodily autonomy.

Congress must act urgently to protect a woman’s right to make decisions about their own body and access safe, legal abortions.

But what we can do today is support the women who will be impacted most — predominantly low-income women of color — by this cruel law and others like it gaining traction in state legislatures across the country.

John, today I’m asking you to make a charitable donation to the National Network of Abortion Funds. We must stand strong in the face of injustice and attacks against abortion access.
