BREAKING NEWS, John: Republicans just effectively banned all abortions in Texas, and the U.S. Supreme Court let it happen.

This could be the beginning of the end for Roe v. Wade unless Congress takes action — will you sign my petition to join me in calling on Congress to pass legislation permanently protecting reproductive rights in the United States?

This barbaric new Texas law bans all abortions after 6 weeks, before most women even know they’re pregnant, and allows abortion providers (or anyone who assists someone with getting an abortion) to be sued and ordered to pay $10,000 to anti-abortion bounty hunters.

The Supreme Court could have blocked this law from going into effect today, but thanks to Trump stacking the Court with conservatives, they didn’t.

A separate Mississippi anti-abortion law will soon be heard by the Court, and legal experts predict that this could ultimately overturn Roe v. Wade and lead to more total abortion bans across the entire country.

In June, I introduced legislation in Congress to protect patients’ right to an abortion anywhere in the United States — now I need your help turning it into law.

John, I’ve spent my entire career in public service defending the rights of women and other marginalized communities. I’m not backing down now. Add your name to my petition to demand that Congress prevent the GOP from upending reproductive rights in the United States.

I will never stop fighting to protect the right to choose, and I hope you will join me.

Always,

Lois
