I’m sure you’ve seen the news -- a six-week abortion ban went into effect in Texas today.
That means before many women even know they’re pregnant, they will be barred from accessing safe abortion care in Texas.
The law also criminalizes abortion providers or anyone else who assists a woman in receiving an abortion and opens them up to legal action from anyone. It also makes no exceptions for cases involving rape or incest.
The GOP has been getting closer and closer to an outright abortion ban for years, but this is one of the most oppressive laws we’ve seen put into place since Roe v. Wade ensured a woman’s right to choose.
