Late last night, Texas passed its un-democratic, racist voting law. Among other atrocities, it will:
- Ban ballot drop boxes
- Ban drive-thru voting
- Ban 24-hour polling locations
- Ban the distribution of mail-in ballot applications
- Establish monthly "citizenship checks"
- Create new ID requirements to vote
And that's just the tip of the iceberg, team.
This law is a direct assault on our right to vote, and its policies shamelessly target Black and Brown communities. We have to fight back.
Through our Vote To Live Campaign, we are helping Black voters register to vote and get to the polls no matter what obstacles crooked politicians throw in our path. But my team tells me we fell short of our end-of-month fundraising goal last night. We can't fall behind and let these attacks go unanswered. I need your support.
