Another Minnesota Republican has jumped in to challenge Governor Walz.

From her first days in office, MN GOP Senator Michelle Benson has been one of the GOP’s most reliable votes for corporate special interests. She has worked relentlessly to strip health care away from millions of Minnesotans, was one of the leading MN Republican voices championing the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, and showed contempt for people suffering from the skyrocketing costs of insulin – suggesting they “go to the emergency room” when they run out of their life-saving medication.

Sparing no opportunity to pander to the most extreme right-wing elements of the Minnesota Republican Party, Benson also sponsored legislation to allow businesses to discriminate against same-sex couples, spread dangerous misinformation about COVID-19, and worked to make it easier for dangerous people to get guns.

Michelle Benson would be an absolute disaster for Minnesotans. We need to make sure she doesn’t come anywhere near the Governor’s Office.

I just met with Nora and our fundraising team to see what kind of resources we can free up to hold Benson accountable right out of the gate. They moved a few things around, but we still need to raise at least $10,000 by Friday to execute the full communications plan I’ve laid out.
