Hi, John.

Welcome to September! We’re less than one week away from Labor Day, which is when elections across the county will kick into high gear. New Jersey is one of only two states in the country with gubernatorial and state legislative races this year, so your work is more important than ever!

In this issue, you’ll find information about the MCYD’s upcoming Candidate Award Process, NJYD candidate endorsements, ways you can get active here in Morris County, and our next MCYD meeting.

MCYD Update

Our last MCYD meeting was Tuesday, August 17th and we had T.C. McCourt, one of our candidates for County Commissioner, as our special guest. To learn more about what T.C. and his running mates will do when elected, check out our video of that meeting. ([link removed])

Our next meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 14 at 7PM ET and, in that meeting, we’ll provide an overview of the Morris County Young Democrats' Candidate Award Process.

While the MCYD supports and endorses all Democrats, particularly Young Democrats, we're a small group here with limited resources. This year, we’ll be awarding $500 each to 4 candidates who apply and are selected by the voting members of MCYD.

Any Democrats running for local or county office in Morris County can apply for an award using this link ([link removed]) by Thursday, September 16 at 11:59 PM EST.
The application should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.

NJYD Endorsement

The New Jersey Young Democrats will also be running an endorsement process this year. Their application is open to candidates under the age of 40 running at all levels of government.

If you are interested in their endorsement, apply by filling out this form ([link removed]) no later than Monday, September 20th, and LET US KNOW that you applied so that we can flag your application for the NJYD’s Endorsement Committee.

Upcoming Events

The next MCYD meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 14 at 7PM ET. Please stay tuned for the Zoom link and additional details about our special guests.

The Morris County Democratic Committee has announced the details of their annual Fall Gala. It will be held at The Mansion at Mountain Lakes on Thursday, September 30 from 6-8PM ET. More details, including ticket pricing and the event's headliner, will be released soon.
