Sending you a quick note from the campaign trail. I’m headed on stage in just a few minutes to debate the other candidates for the Democratic nomination.
Except for the “debate” part.
The state party has forbidden us to ask one another questions or even to record the event. So unless you’re in Montrose, you won’t get the chance to hear us today—and even if you are here, you might not learn how we differ.
There are real differences in this race: on health care, climate action, and other key priorities. We should debate these issues and let voters make an informed decision, instead of selling Colorado’s Senate seat to the highest bidder.
Let me be blunt: this primary is the last thing Washington wants. Chuck Schumer and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee are doing everything they can to derail our campaign and drown out your voice.
But I don’t report to them. As Colorado’s next senator, I’ll report to you.
The good news: even a generic Democrat will beat Cory Gardner (by 10 points, at last count). The question in this race is who should replace him—and who should decide.
We have the right to choose our own senator. Defend that right by chipping in $5 or more today.
