Save the Children Action Network is the political voice for kids.

In the U.S., parents are struggling to return to work and children are missing out on invaluable learning opportunities. Tell your members of Congress: to truly build back better, we must invest in child care and early education!

Hi John -

Would you believe me if I told you that child care costs more than in-state tuition at public colleges in most states?[1]

It’s true – and as millions of parents strive to re-enter the workforce, our country’s lack of affordable, high-quality child care is standing in their way. In fact, it’s the number one reason why unemployed Americans turn down a job offer.[2]

The national shortage of accessible early learning opportunities can be especially devastating for vulnerable children. Early education is linked to better economic, social and health outcomes, making it one of the most effective ways to break the cycle of poverty and give kids a head start in life.[3]

John, families are suffering unprecedented financial and emotional strain, and countless children are living in tense or unstable home environments as a result.

Save the Children Action Network is launching a major campaign encouraging key lawmakers to vote for a once-in-a-generation investment in child care and early learning. Send a message to your members of Congress and get a sneak peek of our advocacy video!

The Build Back Better Bill would change the lives of millions of kids and save the average family thousands of dollars annually.[4] If passed, the plan would guarantee access to high-quality, affordable child care for low- and middle-income families. States would be able to offer free universal preschool to every three- and four-year-old, prioritizing accessibility and inclusivity.

Funding child care and early learning will allow parents to return to work, create countless jobs and spur economic growth. These investments have the potential to drastically improve children’s financial, health and social outcomes – and strengthen our country in the process.

Urge Congress to invest in our nation and our children – now and for generations to come.

Thank you for being a voice for kids,
