I want to thank you for all you have done to support the safety and security of Israel this past year.
The year began with many in Israel celebrating a return to normalcy after months of COVID isolation. People gathered outdoors once again on the beaches of Tel Aviv, the Mahane Yehuda Market of Jerusalem, at Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea.
But in May, hundreds of thousands of were driven back inside—this time into bomb shelters—when Hamas fired 4,300 rockets at Israel over ten days.
During these attacks, Iron Dome intercepted more than 90% of the Hamas rockets that threatened Israeli communities—saving countless lives and preventing a further escalation of the conflict. This vital missile defense system was developed with the support of critical U.S. security assistance that AIPAC members like you lobby for each year.
This year in particular, AIPAC activists like you played a vital role in countering calls by Israel’s detractors to cut or condition U.S. security assistance. Your outreach helped urge more than 75 percent of the House to sign a bipartisan letter strongly supporting full U.S. security assistance and clearly opposing new cuts or conditions to America's aid.
But there is much more work to be done, as Israel continues to face dangers on all fronts and some here in America take actions that would risk Israel’s safety.
