We’re excited to kick off Hunger Action Month by inviting you to join to our brand new campaign: #SNAPtheStigma ([link removed]) .

The USDA’s recent announcement that SNAP benefits will be increased by an average of 25% is a huge victory in the fight against hunger. But due to stigmas about using “food stamps” and a complicated application process, about 16% of all people and 50% of eligible seniors – millions of low-income, working Americans – who urgently need SNAP don’t end up receiving it.

To truly make a dent in domestic hunger, everyone who is eligible for the SNAP program must receive benefits.

That’s why Hunger Free America is doubling down on our SNAP outreach efforts – both in person and through our National Hunger Hotline – to make sure that every eligible household applies for SNAP and starts receiving this crucial assistance. We’re working to bust the myths surrounding SNAP. We're also advocating for Congress to pass legislation that will make the program more accessible.

Join us during Hunger Action Month to #SNAPtheStigma and help us get tens of thousands of families signed up for benefits. Here are three ways to get involved:
