On August 18th, Ryan Zinke wrote an Op-Ed in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle laying out the destruction that wildfires have caused in Montana this summer. He is correct that the damage has been massive and the fires have burned for longer and been more intense than in the past. In fact, this remarkable image was captured of the Montana fires from space.

The problem is, Zinke attributes the fires and their intensity to poor forest management by the Department of the Interior, rather than the conditions caused by the climate crisis. Donate to the Montana Democrats so that we can elect leaders who will address the root causes of these destructive fires.

Yes, it is hotter and drier, but not because of poor forest management. It’s because of climate change!

At the MDP, we believe we need better leadership that will address the climate crisis and avoid such destruction in the future. But folks like Zinke won’t get it done. Chip in today so that we can elect Democrats up and down the ballot who will protect our land and combat the climate crisis.

We appreciate your standing with us on this important issue.
