John — There’s more troubling news coming out of Greenland.

Last month, the country saw one of the largest ice-melting events ever. Now, for the first time in recorded history, the snow falling at the summit of Greenland — more than two miles above sea level — turned to rain.

The warming temperatures at the summit fueled an extreme rain event that dumped enough water on the ice sheet to fill the Reflecting Poll at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. nearly 250,000 times.

Warming temperatures and more rain caused by climate change will only speed up the global warming process by melting ice sheets that redirect solar energy back out into space instead of being absorbed into our atmosphere.

That means that the already increased frequency and intensity of flooding, wildfires, hurricanes, heatwaves, and other extreme weather events will only grow exponentially if we continue to allow the climate change process to speed up.

We have the power to slow and reverse these trends, but only if we act decisively and quickly to create real solutions. SEEC members in Congress are working diligently to enact policies that will reduce the acceleration of climate change, but they can’t do it alone.

Will you support their efforts to enact real climate action by making a donation today? The more resources they have behind them, the faster they can make change to get our planet back on track. [[link removed]]
