Please join me in supporting the Texas abortion fund, the Ohio Women’s Alliance, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, and NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio.
John,
Usually I’d ask you to donate to our campaign in an email like this one, but not today. Today, I need you to donate somewhere else.
Because as you read this, Roe v. Wade in Texas functionally ceases to exist.
It’s true. Texas' extreme six-week abortion ban officially took effect today after the Supreme Court failed to intervene.
Not only does this law blatantly ban abortions at six weeks, before most people even know they’re pregnant, but it also actively encourages private citizens to act as bounty hunters, awarding them at least $10,000 if they successfully sue another person for providing an abortion or assisting someone who gets one.
It is the most extreme abortion law in the country right now.
And make no mistake, John. The impact of this law will be immediate and devastating — especially for Black and brown Americans, and working class communities that already lack access to high-quality, affordable health care.
Here in Ohio, we are no strangers to extreme abortion bans like the one in Texas. Ohio’s past two Republican governors have shuttered most of Ohio's abortion clinics over the years. Now there are only eight left in the entire state, and I’m prepared to fight tooth and nail to keep them open.
Will you join me in protecting abortion access in Texas, Ohio, and across the country by splitting a donation of $5 or more among the Texas abortion fund, a coalition of nine frontline groups, as well as the Ohio Women’s Alliance, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, and NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio? We can’t let the Republicans win control over our bodies and our lives.

Let me be very clear, John: Abortion is health care, and health care is a human right. Full stop.
And when we take this campaign to the United States Senate, you’ll never have to question where I stand on this issue — ever.
As a Senator, I’ll fight to unrig Trump and McConnell’s stolen Supreme Court by expanding the Court — and I’ll always protect abortion access. But in the meantime there’s a lot we can do to help people who are affected by cruel abortion laws in Ohio and across the country.
The Ohio Women’s Alliance, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio, and the Texas abortion fund are doing urgent work on the ground to help people access abortion. Will you join me in taking a stand for abortion access by splitting a donation between these groups today?
