Today, Senate Bill 8 in Texas is taking effect, banning abortions at six weeks and creating a bounty on abortions. And the Supreme Court actively let it happen.

We can let that news sink in for a moment.

The Supreme Court allowed an abortion ban to pass that obviously violates the protections of Roe v. Wade. This ban is why we have been sounding the alarm — any person around the country can sue any Texan who helps patients access abortion care after six weeks, including religious leaders, counselors, family members, rideshare drivers, providers, and abortion fund staff and volunteers.

And the state will reward these anti-choice vigilantes with at least $10,000 if their court challenge is successful.
