The second-largest state in the country effectively banned abortion today. Let's be clear -- what's happening in Texas is not just an attack on women, it's an attack on reproductive rights everywhere.

This new Texas law bans abortion after six weeks, which is before most people even know they're pregnant. We won't go back.

Here's the deal though, I need your help. I'm fighting hard to pass the Women's Health Protection Act, but the anti-choice movement is strong in their opposition.

We've got two far-right Republican opponents planning a run in IL-03 who want to turn back the clock just like Texas did. And we know their ultimate goal is to overturn Roe v. Wade and ban abortion at the federal level -- we can't let that happen.

This is not a false alarm. This is gravely serious and we need to keep this seat.

Republicans in Texas have enacted a cruel and unjust law that will disproportionately hurt communities of color and people in rural areas, but they're not the only state that has done this.
