It wasn’t always easy. Democrats and the liberal corporate media ignored the science and expected me to do the same. They preferred endless lockdowns and authoritarian government power-grabs that would crumble our economy and put Floridians out of work.
Under the leadership of lockdown governors in blue states like New York, New Jersey, and California have some of the worst unemployment rates in the country.
Homelessness is running rampant, businesses have shuddered, and people are fleeing these states for havens of liberty like Florida. In Florida, I protected freedom and kept businesses open.
I protected the right of Floridians to earn a living and provide for their families throughout the pandemic.
Now, we enjoy an unemployment rate significantly lower than that of New York, New Jersey, and California at 5.1%.
We acted in the best interests of our people and the result has been better, more prosperous lives for the people of Florida. Our resolve to do what’s right has made Florida a leader in providing economic opportunity.
As a result, Florida’s unemployment is now 50% lower than the lockdown rate in these lockdown jurisdictions.
