John,

Something horrible just happened in Texas: a law banning nearly all abortions after just six weeks was allowed to go into effect, effectively overturning almost five decades of precedent set forth in Roe v. Wade.

This will *immediately* force many abortion clinics in the state to close, and limit abortion access for 85% of patients.

It’s catastrophic, and every single one of us should be sounding every alarm bell.

Six weeks. That is before many women even know they are pregnant. Banning abortion at the six-week mark sets a dangerous precedent — opening up the floodgates to even more dangerous anti-choice bills that could threaten reproductive rights, and women’s health, across the country.

And with the Supreme Court set to take up the 15-week abortion ban in Mississippi, we should all be worried that they could overturn Roe v. Wade for good, leaving women with nowhere to turn for a safe, legal abortion. We cannot let that happen.

That’s why I’m reaching out today, John. Please join me in urging the Supreme Court to uphold and defend Roe v. Wade. Reproductive justice at large is at stake.

As a physician for over two decades, I know how important it is that decisions about what women can do with their bodies stay between a woman and her doctor. Legislators forcing their way into these decisions has horrific consequences.

Thanks for speaking out.
