Thank You to Everyone Who Took Action! |
|
John, LCA would like to thank supporters who took action in support of the retail fur sales ban in Michigan. Ann Arbor became the first city in Michigan to enact an Ordinance banning the sale of new fur products. "On behalf of LCA, we would like to congratulate the city council in Ann Arbor for enacting this historic law," said Chris DeRose, LCA's President and Founder. "There is no excuse to kill animals for the sake of fashion and LCA will not stop until this horrific industry is shut down for good." Last year, an outbreak of COVID-19 was reported at a mink fur farm in Michigan. To date, there have been 17 outbreaks on mink farms across the U.S. in Utah, Oregon, Michigan, and Wisconsin. While LCA believes fur farming should be stopped on the basis of animal cruelty alone, the spread of COVID-19 on mink fur farms presents a dire public health risk that cannot be ignored. LCA is encouraging supporters to sign and share the petition to ban fur farming worldwide before it ignites the next global pandemic. |
