Stay Informed Tuesday, August 31, 2021 RPAZ ExComm Gets State of Party Report: Excellent On Saturday, August 28, we held an in-person Executive Committee meeting in Sedona. With many in attendance, the Executive Committee was briefed on our presence at the Republican National Committee's Summer Meeting, the excellent state of our current fundraising machine, the terrific impact our communications campaign is having, and our fruitful voter registration campaign. We also received many encouraging updates from county chairs and the current progress we are having in fielding Republican candidates in all of our state legislative districts. We got an update on the Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) and how we vastly outperformed the Democrats in attending the first public meetings. In the coming weeks, the IRC will begin to release preliminary maps for congressional and legislative districts – we will need to redouble our efforts at that time to make sure our voices are heard during those meetings. Lastly, I join with most Americans in grieving for and with the families of our military personnel that lost their lives in Afghanistan. While I agree with the decision to bring our troops home, the way we exited is appalling. The incompetence of Joe Biden and his administration has led to the loss of American lives. We must demand accountability. Always America First! GET TICKETS Source: Politico Botched Afghanistan Retreat Has Ratings Consequences for Biden Over the past weeks news coming out of Afghanistan has been heartbreaking and horrific. Americans have been stranded with no apparent plans to evacuate them. The Biden Administration’s failure to adequately plan for our withdrawal has left billions of dollars worth of advanced US military equipment – paid for by US taxpayer money -- to the Taliban. Thirteen members of our military were killed in the recent stages of our withdrawal. In addition, our military forces, combined with those of our allies, have sacrificed heavily over the 20-year duration of the war. To compound the shameful situation, President Biden has repeatedly refused to answer questions over his botched withdrawal. What effect has Biden’s blundering had on his presidency? A recently released USA Today/Suffolk poll places Biden’s approval rating at a low 41 percent while 26 percent of the sample showed support for his handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle. A CBS poll shows that 74 percent of Americans believe Biden and his administration botched the Afghanistan withdrawal. Americans are less safe because of Biden’s policies and they are losing faith in his leadership as these poll results prove. Almost since the start of the administration, Joe Biden promised that US withdrawal would not be chaotic. Clearly he was wrong and now is urging the news media to positively report their handling of Afghanistan. The recent Taliban takeover of Afghanistan joins a series of other crises Biden has overseen since taking office in January including a porous Southern border, rapidly rising prices and increased street crime.
