There’s a local coffee shop chain called Norm’s that I love, that has been promising to open a new location for what feels like 9 years. It finally opened, so I went with my parents and Carmel. It was jam packed. My dad told the server it was Carmel’s birthday. She told her she doesn’t like attention so please don’t sing. There was a 1200 calorie burrito on the menu that looked good so I ordered it. Server said that the picture was actually a 1300 calorie chorizo burrito. I said let’s do it. Even though that’s way too many calories, and I hate chorizo. I got nervous and panic ordered. 

 

It was so loud we couldn’t really hear each other, so Carmel and I were just mostly nodding, pretending we could hear my folks. All the food came, except my burrito. So I had to ask them to hurry up the burrito I didn’t want. So I could get it over with. It finally came and I wish it didn’t. Then nearly the entire restaurant came to our table to sing Carmel happy birthday. She was mortified. It was a great success all around. (My ears still hurt.)
