Dear John,
Hurricane Ida slammed into southeastern Louisiana on Sunday as a strong Category 4 hurricane with 150 mph winds, tearing roofs off buildings, stranding many in their homes and cars with catastrophic flooding, and leaving approximately one million without power, including the city of New Orleans. As the remnants of the storm continue their march towards the Atlantic, the people of Louisiana and Mississippi are just beginning to sort through the rubble and pick up the pieces.
The recovery effort will take weeks and months for families, churches, and businesses to clean up and restore all that was damaged or lost in this storm.
At Family Research Council, we are committed to not just praying for, but tangibly helping those who are on the ground. That's why we have launched a dollar-for-dollar matching grant up to $25,000 in which all donations will be given directly to ministries providing hurricane relief, including Samaritan's Purse.
As you may know, Samaritan's Purse is a trusted disaster relief ministry run by our good friend Franklin Graham. Their teams have already mobilized on the ground in Louisiana with equipment and supplies in some of the hardest hit areas as they serve as the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.
Please prayerfully consider joining FRC in meeting our $25,000 match so that together our gifts will go directly to help our fellow Americans who are pulling their lives and homes back together.
Thank you, John, for your generosity and prayers!
Sincerely,
Family Research Council
