Friend -- a number of things are happening at once:
The next decade's worth of maps are being drawn right now and we expect to see some of the first drafts this month.
Republicans are openly planning to gerrymander -- and at the federal level, they're blocking the federal voting rights legislation that would prohibit them from rigging congressional maps.
But Democrats aren't giving up:
"Voting rights, voting rights, will be the first matter of legislative business when the Senate returns to session in September. Our democracy demands no less."

There's reason to be hopeful: At the end of August, the House passed the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act , which A.G. Holder called "an essential tool to fight racial discrimination in voting." Now Congress needs to pass more critical measures to protect our right to vote, while at the same time preventing Republicans from gerrymandering and suppressing the vote at the state level.
It's a tall order -- but we can do it with your help, friend. Will you pitch in now to help us CRUSH gerrymandering, secure the freedom to vote, and save our democracy?
