I know it’s not realistic for you to donate to every fundraising email from our campaign. You probably get way too many from me and from everyone else clamoring to get your attention -- and truly, I’m sorry to add to the clutter in your inbox.

But that’s exactly why we have to send so many -- of the tens of thousands of folks who receive them, only about a third will open them. And even less will actually take the time to click through and pitch in $5, $10, $25 or $50 to help defend IL-06.

We’re up against a critical end-of-month fundraising deadline TONIGHT, so we’ve been reaching out a lot over the past few days to try and get in front of as many eyes as possible.

So first of all, thanks for even reading this. Second of all, we’re falling a little over $1,000 short of our online fundraising goal for August -- will you be one of the 40 grassroots donors we need to chip in $25 or more to help us reach it in time?

My fundraising team tells me that there’s been a significant decrease in online contributions this summer -- so we need all the help we can get to make sure we hit our August goal.
