Friend, children in the wake of Hurricane Ida need our help.

The category 4 storm made landfall Sunday near Port Fourchon, Louisiana, bringing with it torrential rains, winds up to 150mph, and dangerous storm surges. UNICEF USA has joined forces with Church World Service and other local partners to coordinate aid quickly and efficiently. We need an initial $500,000 to support partners on the ground addressing urgent and midterm needs such as child protection, mental health and psychosocial support, cash transfers, infrastructure needs -- such as temporary housing -- and supplies purchases.

There’s no time to waste. Donate now to support relief efforts for Louisiana.

In a crisis like this, Friend, children are most vulnerable. Investing in relief now is critical to address immediate needs and help protect children from the long-term traumatic impact of the disaster. That’s why no matter the circumstance, no matter the location, we are committed to reaching every child.

It’s been 16 years since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, and one of the most important things we’ve learned is that the aftermath of a storm of this magnitude can cause damage long after the floodwaters have receded. Your contribution today allows us to respond rapidly and continue to protect the lives of every child, every day. Please donate now to send urgent relief to children and families in the wake of Hurricane Ida.
