Hi John,
$2,513. That’s how much we need to raise before midnight tonight. Can you help with a quick $11 donation now to help me win? Thank you!
People are scrambling to find housing in the wake of Hurricane Ida.
Additionally, some families were evicted right before the hurricane because of the eviction moratorium expiring.
There’s been a mass evacuation as a wildfire approaches Lake Tahoe in California.
And earlier this summer, we had the heat wave that killed over 1,000 people in the Pacific Northwest.
These climate change catastrophes are only going to get worse. This is “only” 1° C (1.8° F) of warming. Imagine what it’ll be like at 2° C or 3° C.
Who do you want in Congress fighting the climate catastrophe: me or someone who takes money from Chevron and Marathon Petroleum like my opponent Derek Kilmer?
While Trump was president and youth climate activists were fighting for their future on this planet, Kilmer was taking money from Big Oil and making nice with Republicans. Recently, over 50 Democrats signed a letter calling for the repeal of fossil fuel subsidies, but Kilmer wasn’t one of them.
The ultimate cause of this crisis is a profit-driven energy sector that extracts commodities no matter the environmental cost: the almighty dollar is all that matters.
We need to move to 100% renewable energy now and put a ban on all fossil fuel extraction, pipelines, and refining.
I can fight for those policies because I refuse all corporate money, including donations from Big Oil. In Congress I’ll be beholden to the people who live on this Earth, not the companies who destroy it.
But to get there, I need to raise enough money to power a winning campaign, and I’m still $2,513 away from this month's goal. The deadline is tonight at midnight. Can you chip in now to help?
