Hi John,

It’s nice to meet you! I’m Shadi Seyed Yosefi, the Congressional Coordinator for NIAC Los Angeles. We’re closing out on August recess, and I couldn’t be more proud of the work we were able to accomplish. Let me catch you up to speed on what we’ve been working on:

• NIAC has hosted 19 grassroots lobby meetings so far, and by the end of this month, we’ll have completed 25 meetings 
• We’ve personally met with Reps. Lofgren, Jayapal, Smith, and Raskin
• NIAC worked with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren to call for an immediate suspension of sanctions to help fight COVID-19
• We helped lead 44 organizations to call on President Biden to follow through on commitments to support humanitarian trade with Iran to combat COVID-19
• NIAC directly pressed the Biden administration on steps to support humanitarian trade and vaccinations for Iranians, helping to lead to a new general license
