John,

This email is not about a fundraising deadline. We are reaching out to make sure you are up-to-date on important voting rights news.

To celebrate the 58th anniversary of the March on Washington, where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, Americans got together in cities across the country to speak out for voting rights.

Our immediate demands are clear: The Senate must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.

Today, the Texas state Senate approved a racist voter suppression bill. Democrats did everything possible to block this bill, even leaving the state and risking arrest. This legislation makes it a felony for election officials to send mail ballot applications to voters and increases vote ID restrictions to vote by mail. It’s clear Texas Republicans are terrified of measures that make it easier to vote, so they’re criminalizing accessing the ballot box.

Tomorrow is National Poll Worker Recruitment Day. From school boards to presidential elections, poll workers are essential in making sure voters are heard and our democracy stays strong. Especially right now, when the GOP is threatening the legitimacy of our elections, we need poll workers to ensure our elections run smoothly.

John, between pressuring Congress and defeating legislators who suppress the vote, we have a lot we are working on. I hope this update gives you a clear picture of what we’ve been working on. So, now that you know, can you support our efforts by chipping $25 to protect voting rights.

------------
Vote From Home is a grassroots movement that's fighting to expand vote-by-mail. We helped thousands of Democrats vote safely from home in Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina and Georgia in 2020 and 2021. Now we're focused on stopping politicians and legislation who are making it harder for Americans to vote by mail. Please forward this email if you know someone who may be interested. Our average gift is just under $39 so consider donating that today to support voting rights: [link removed]
