Lt. Gov Dan Patrick [[link removed]] [[link removed]]
As this year's second special legislative session draws to a close, the Texas House is (finally) at work this week voting on several GOP priority bills.
In the Senate, we have already passed bills on election integrity, bail bond reform, a 13th check for retired teachers, banning critical race theory in Texas schools, protecting women and girls' sports and many more.
Now that House Democrats have returned from their quorum-breaking vacation in D.C. and Europe, the Texas House will be voting on companion bills that were passed in the Senate to advance this critical legislation to the Governor's desk for signing.
I am proud to announce that earlier this week both the House and Senate voted out Senate Bills 8 and 12, two bills focusing on real property tax reform. These bills will save Texas homeowners 100 million dollars over the next two years. They should be on their way to Governor Abbott any day now.
From providing tax relief for homeowners to supporting our educators to passing vital reforms in our election process to ensure it's easier to vote and harder to cheat, this is quickly shaping up to be the most successful special session for Texans in years.
I will continue to keep you posted on how things play out this week.
Praying for our Soldiers
Prayers for our soldiers [[link removed]]
Jan and I are devastated to hear the news of the deaths and injuries sustained by several U.S. service members in the attack at the Kabul airport last week.
David Espinoza [[link removed]]
U.S. Marine David Espinoza, a Laredo-native, was one of the 13 service members tragically killed in action. He was only 20 years old.
Please join us in prayer for the soldiers, their loved ones, and for our armed forces. Our hearts ache for these heroes who won't return home.
We will not forget the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Biden Abandons Americans

Did you see this? [[link removed]] This is absolutely disgraceful. To the hundreds of American citizens left stranded by the Biden administration in Afghanistan: You will not be forgotten. We will find a way to get you home. We must.
Biden Looks at His Watch While Caskets Pass By
Checks his watch [[link removed]]
Biden looked at his watch multiple times [[link removed]] as our fallen heroes were brought home.
As polls show Biden's approval rating sliding to new lows [[link removed]], it is becoming more and more clear: Biden has failed our Nation.
Individual Liberty, Limited Government, Private Enterprise & Free Markets
UT-Austin [[link removed]]
Over the past several months, I have been working alongside the University of Texas at Austin to launch a new think tank on campus [[link removed]].
A growing proportion of our population lacks a basic understanding of the role liberty and private enterprise play in their well-being.
Too many Americans, particularly younger students, maintain misconceptions about our political system and lack an even basic understanding of the moral, ethical, philosophical and historical foundations underpinning a free society. UT's Liberty Institute will educate thousands of students on just that.
I look forward to seeing this plan come to fruition.
We Showed the World What it Means to be Texas Strong
Harvey Anniversary [[link removed]]
August 25th marked four years since Hurricane Harvey made landfall in our state. I remain in awe of those who lent their support and the Texans who came together to help their neighbors, loved ones, family members, and even strangers—during a time of need. A great tragedy, but one that united us as Texans. We showed the world what it means to be Texas Strong.
As we reflect on Hurricane Harvey, may we also pray for our neighbors in Louisiana affected by Hurricane Ida. The hurricane made landfall as a Category 4 earlier this week.
Celebrating Women's Equality Day
19th Amendment [[link removed]]
101 years ago, on August 26, 1920, the U.S. adopted the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote. In the Texas Senate there is a historic number of women currently serving. They play a vital role in the leadership of Texas and it is an honor to work with them.
Happy National Dog Day!
Hot Dog Day [[link removed]]
On a lighter note, we celebrated National Dog Day last week...
I've had dogs my entire life including 3 Old English Sheepdogs. Pictured here is Bailey with me as a freshman Senator in 2007. Sadly, he passed away several years ago.
Barnum, a maltipoo, passed at 17 several months ago. Both were great friends over many years.
Finally, our newest addition to the family, Otis, a Bernese Mountain Dog/Poodle, who we share with our daughter. We have a lot of fond memories - looking forward to many more!
It's probably because we keep turning conservative policy into conservative legislation that the Democrats are trying to defeat me at the ballot box. The Democrats will stop at nothing to defeat me in 2022. I hope I can count on your financial support of $5-10-25 or more today. [[link removed]]

Your support will help our campaign champion conservative ideas across Texas. Because when the conservatives win, Texas wins.
May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,
Dan Patrick [[link removed]]
