In November 2020, Alabama voters approved Amendment 4, which gives the Legislature the opportunity to remove outdated and offensive racist language from our state's constitution. We explained our support of Amendment 4 last year.
The committee that manages this historic project comprises legislators and regular Alabamians. They will meet this Thursday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. in Room 200 of the State House in Montgomery to discuss removing racist language. You can watch the meeting live here.
