On September 1st, one of the most extreme anti-abortion bans will go into effect. This Texas law bans abortions as early as six weeks in pregnancy and includes a provision that allows private individuals — including anti-abortion protestors with no connection to the patient — to file lawsuits seeking to enforce the ban.

Taken alongside the Supreme Court’s decision to hear arguments in the Mississippi 15-week ban this fall, our movement is facing the gravest threat to abortion access in decades with serious implications for communities across the country. It is not hyperbole to say that these two laws will radically alter abortion rights for years to come.

Together with other major progressive organizations like the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood, Progress Florida, and Equality Florida, we'll mobilize abortion rights supporters in Florida as part of a national day of action. We will update participants on the current state of abortion access in Florida and the country as a whole. We’ll also talk about the violent and deceitful history of the anti-abortion movement and how it’s lead us to today. Collectively, we are powerful and represent the majority of Americans who support access to safe and legal abortion. We’re not going to stand for radicalized attacks and we’re coming together to learn more about how to push back.
