Imagine one night you’re awakened by a noise.

For a split second, you think you’re just imagining things but seconds later an intruder smashes through your window and starts ransacking your living room.

Knowing that your house is being invaded, you quickly take out your gun from your cabinet and cautiously step through the house prepared to confront the criminal.

Surprised, the trespasser who broke into your house scurried outside like the coward that he is after he saw you ready to defend yourself with lethal force.

You breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the worst that happened was that several of your home items were damaged. But you know he was aware you were home and came prepared to deal with you if necessary.

So, you thank the Lord that you live in a red state where the right to bear arms is protected.

Tragically, many Americans don’t live with the rights afforded by the Second Amendment because they have Marxist officials who do not abide by our Constitution.

That means those citizens are sitting ducks in potential encounters with hardened criminals.

We Texans should be proud of electing Texas public servants who swear to protect our Constitutional rights and mean it by keeping Texas a state, for the most part, where our right to keep and bear arms is protected.

But we can always do better. And the only way we can fully restore the Second Amendment in Texas and the rest of this great nation is by having the right leadership.

We live in troubling times.

Antifa and Black Lives Matter radicals are allowed to loot stores and even burn law enforcement and government buildings. In fact, last summer, the chaos they directly caused created more damage than any domestic chaos ever occurring in the U.S. And when they’re caught, they’re bailed out by fat cat leftist donors. Even our current Vice-President was urging for that last summer.

But when a gun owner doesn’t comply with an arbitrary federal gun control rule, the federal jackboots come storming in and haul them off to prison. They even do that to elderly Americans who have never been violent in their lives. Our system has gone off the rails with so much concentrated power they have grabbed and Congress has not adequately restrained.

This is pretty twisted stuff and it’s a sign of where large parts of the country are heading.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it, Friend, situations like the ones many Americans find themselves in with crime increasing all around them are why we have a Second Amendment.

Many folks, especially those who can’t rely on the police and the justice system to lock the criminals up, are up a creek without a paddle.

With criminals and radical leftists being allowed to prowl the streets with no regard for gun laws, people are on their own as far as security is concerned.

This is where the Second Amendment becomes a life saver. It’s designed to protect you and your loved ones from criminals and anarchist mobs intent on terrorizing the innocent.

And you can always trust me to defend your right to bear arms in Congress.
