It’s bad enough that Lauren Boebert is one of the most outspoken ringleaders of the January 6th Sedition Caucus.

Now, it appears there are serious ethical issues that may cast a shadow over her re-election campaign. First, we learned that she failed to disclose nearly $1 million in income that her husband received from energy companies — some of which appears to have been funneled through a company directly tied to Rep. Boebert herself.

This month, we learned that federal officials are also investigating Boebert’s campaign for what appears to be her personal use of campaign funds. In a race that’s bound to be extremely close, our job is to get the facts in front of every single voter in CO-03.

There’s already plenty of fodder in Rep. Boebert’s behavior as a member of Congress for our organizers to go on. Her role on January 6th should and will be investigated. We already know she’s openly supported the people who attacked the Capitol — and in the aftermath of that attack, she was one of the members of Congress who voted to overturn the will of the American people.

But these ethics issues aren’t small potatoes, either.

Failing to properly declare income that could be a conflict of interest is a violation of financial disclosure laws. And the misuse of campaign funds on personal expenses is a crime for which members of Congress have been sentenced to prison in recent years.

Where all of that goes is for the FEC and the courts to decide. No matter what, we have our work cut out for us. We want voters to know the truth about who their representative is, and what she’s done with the power they gave to her.
