Dear John,

Barring legal challenges, Texas’ Senate Bill 8 — an extreme and unconstitutional ban on abortion at six weeks — is set to take effect tomorrow, September 1.

Not only would nearly all abortion care in the state be prohibited, this law also allows anyone to enforce the ban by suing abortion providers and anyone who helps a person obtain abortion care after six weeks of pregnancy.

PRH Board Member Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi spoke to NPR's Michel Martin about what this law means for abortion providers like herself and patients across Texas.

This law is a radical attack on patients, their health care providers, and their support systems. We can’t remain silent.

Join PRH on September 1 for a National Day of Action [[link removed]] with partners across the country to raise awareness of this cruel law and take action in support of Texans and reproductive freedom.

Stay tuned for more details tomorrow.

Thank you,
