Spark Your Entrepreneurship Dreams

Spark—First Funding Cycle for the SEED Grant Closes September 3

We’re excited to bring you Spark Entrepreneurship Hub, which has been built from years of our organizational experience and learnings from undocumented entrepreneurs and with a mission to spark entrepreneurial dreams for our immigrant communities.

Through Spark, we currently offer $5,000 and $10,000 grants to undocumented entrepreneurs in California. There will be four funding cycles, with the first cycle closing this Friday, September 3. Learn more about our funding opportunities here.

Nancy Jodaitis, our Director of Higher Education, and Madeleine Villanueva, our Catalyst Fund Specialist, join Terry Artica from California Student Aid Commission and Valentina Rodriguez-Martinez to share how students with a Cal Grant B award can apply for additional funding of up to $3,000 per academic year through the DSIG and answer questions potential applicants may have. Welcome back, Denia! Denia Pérez joins us as Immigrants Rising’s Legal Services Manager. Denia first came to Immigrants Rising in 2010 as a New American Scholar, and she became our Legal Advocate, and eventually, Legal Services Coordinator. Returning as an immigration attorney, she’s excited to continue serving the undocumented community and bolstering our Pre-Law Program.
