Friend --

Most people have never heard of the American Action Network (AAN). But if you live in America, it's affected you.

The AAN is a conservative dark money group formed after President Obama took office. The group spent $25 million attacking House Democrats in 2010. It paid off: Republicans picked up a whopping 63 House seats that year, the biggest shift in power in more than 50 years.

When I tell you that dark money is a force to be reckoned with, this is what I mean. And now, that very same group is launching $5 million in attack ads against vulnerable House Democrats like me.

This is the kind of money we're up against, even with the election a year away. And it's why fundraising deadlines like tonight's matter so much.

August is a notoriously slow month for fundraising, and we're falling short of our $5,000 goal. So with just hours to go, I'm humbly asking: Will you be the one who gets us across the finish line?

[ABX BUTTONS]

Today, former Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman runs AAN. And you better believe he's not someone who feels bad about spending huge sums of money to deceive voters. By flipping all those House seats red in 2010, the AAN held progress back for years -- on climate, on gun violence, on so much. Norm and his team want to do it again in 2022. We can't let it happen.

So while anonymous billionaires and corporations invest in divisive politicians who will maintain the status quo, I'm asking you to invest in this campaign. I'm asking you to invest in optimism.

We may not have $5 million, but if we keep meeting our goals month after month, I know we can overcome whatever comes our way.

So before the clock strikes midnight, I'm humbly asking one last time: Will you chip in to get us to our $5,000 goal for August and keep my voice in Congress?

Thank you for whatever you can give.

With gratitude,

Dean
