Planning a family is – and should be – an exciting time. Canadian law is clear that discrimination based on someone’s gender, gender expression and sexual orientation is not allowed. 2SLGBTQI people have all the same rights to assisted reproduction technologies as anyone else. However, our community may still unexpectedly encounter barriers in their family planning journey because of their identity.

For this reason, we are proud to launch our newest video series on 2SLGBTQI Family Planning and Assisted Reproductive Technologies. In this 10-episode series, our guest host Aruna Boodram addresses your common questions around 2SLGBTQI family planning and assisted reproduction; covering topics such as surrogacy, sperm and egg donation, adoption, and much more!

This series was created for 2SLGBTQI community members who are thinking about starting a family using assisted reproduction, or have already done so, and still might have some questions on the process and their rights.

As our #PrideInside2021 campaign nears completion, we are proud to share that thanks to your generosity, we have raised over $85,000 this Pride season!

Your 2021 Pride season donation will help support our ongoing research, education, awareness, and legal advocacy initiatives. This work builds the foundation for impactful and significant changes to legislation, policies, and programs that affect the everyday experiences and freedoms of 2SLGBTQI people in Canada and around the world. Thanks to you, we can continue to help create societies and systems that reflect the universal truth that all persons are equal and none is other.

We are also delighted to tell you that we have partnered with Will Power, a national campaign to educate those across Canada on the power they have to make a difference through their Wills and Estates. By leaving a legacy gift to Egale in your Will, you can have a greater impact than you thought possible, while still supporting loved ones.

We are a proud partner in the Will Power movement and you can visit our Will Power page at willpower.ca/charities/egale-canada/
